Welcome to the ASCF Board: Ramona Zamir-Gonzalez
Ramona Zamir-Gonzales was elected at the June 2024 Annual Meeting as Secretary for the organization. To help you get to know her, here’s a short bio:
Ramona grew up in Albuquerque and remembers her parents’ long-time involvement with Albuquerque Sister Cities Foundation. At different times, they also hosted visitors or students from other countries. Before she retired from the City of Albuquerque, Ramona was an office assistant for a couple years in the Economic Development Department. It was there that she was re-introduced to ASCF as it partnered with the City in international business and trade.
More recently, Ramona attended a few Sister Cities events, including the ASCF annual tea. These provided great opportunities to learn more about Albuquerque’s eleven “sisters”, and to hear about the many ways ASCF connects people around the world and in the Albuquerque community.
Ramona and her husband, Ernest, enjoy traveling, experiencing different cultures (especially the food!), and making new friends wherever they go.
